A Quick Update After a Long Absence

So my last post (exactly two months go) promised an update in a week, but that clearly didn't happen. Our grand California trip went remarkably well. Babyini flew so well that people commented that they didn't even know he was on the plane. He even survived spending the night in baggage claim with us!

However, we came back and he has begun boycotting naps--hence the long absence. Maybe soon he will start sleeping regularly and I can return to my regularly scheduled creating and blogging. Lots to write about and no time to do it in! There are so many projects to share and new items headed to the shop soon--my attempt to start thinking about Christmas early this year.

Today is our babyini's first plane ride! We're taking him on the grand tour to meet all his relatives on my side of the family. Here's hoping there is an extra seat on the plane for his car seat and that he sleeps much of the flight!

First Beach Trip!

This past weekend we took our munchkin on his first trip to the beach. We went to the ocean for the weekend with friends. It was overall a great weekend! We took babyini on his first trip to the zoo on Saturday and then Sunday he experienced the Atlantic for the first time. He will experience the Pacific in a little over a week! This was also his first time sneaking in to somewhere, but more on that later!

The zoo was a little bit over his head. Sadly, I don't have any pictures from that part of the trip but needless to say he enjoyed being carried around but didn't really appreciate the animals much.

The beach was beautiful! It was a nice sunny day, but not to hot. Babyini enjoyed watching the waves but wasn't such a fan of the water itself. Could be because it was a little chilly (wait until he feels the Pacific!), or could be because he was a little bit sleepy, but either way it was a good day.

Hello World

I've been thinking of starting a blog for a long time now. Actually, I've started several in the past but it has never gone anywhere. My hope is that maybe, just maybe, this time I will be disciplined enough to keep up with it.

As a new mom, with a four month old baby who likes to nap on my lap for an hour or two every morning, my hope is that I can use that time to write and share with you projects, pictures, and just everyday life.

Nothing like peaches in summer. That was today's breakfast. (Can you tell I recently discovered and have fallen in love with Instagram?)

I'm coming to love the little things, like a baby so asleep on my lap while I write to you that he no longer has the energy to suck on his pacifier. Life is good.
